Flagstone - and steppers are used flat on the ground to create walkways, patios and pathways.  They can be placed close together, spaced apart or individually depending on the look you are trying to achieve.  Most flagging material is 1-1/4" to 2-1/2" thick and varies in width and thickness.  Generally, flagstone pieces are larger than steppers.
	Napolean - Flagstone Steppers
Wallstone - materials are usually stacked on top of one another to create a wall.  This material is thicker and smaller the flagstone.  The thickness of palletized wallstone is typically 1"-3", 2"-4" or 4"-6" for smaller walls, but it can get up to 12"-15" and thicker for large walls.  Premium wallstone thickness will vary less than standard walls and sometimes comes snapped to a specific depth (8" or 12" typically).  These wallstones cost more but go farther per ton and there is less waste.
	Grey Gorge - 2"-3" Wallstone
Steps/Outcropping - are individual pieces of stone used to create steps or accents in the landscape.  Step material is 6"-8" thick and comes dimensional (cut to a particular size) or irregular (right out of the quarry).  Dimensional steps are typically 18" deep and 3', 4', or 5'.  Some dimensional steps are sawn so their surface is smooth, but most are a natural surface.  The irregular steps range from 2'x2' to 4'x6' and are in various shapes.  Outcropping stones are usually thicker than steps and come in irregular sizes and shapes.  They are used as accents.
