Grub Control:

In the past few years, grub damage to lawns has been increasing.  Proper control of grubs may require several applications of different pesticides at different times of the grubs life cycle.  One treatment, during the spring or fall, attacks the large feeding grubs while another, during the summer, attacks young immature grubs.

Spring Control  -  (April 1st - May 15th)  When  turf damage from adult feeding grubs is obvious, apply Dylox.

Summer Control  -  (June 15th - July 7th)  This application attacks the newly hatched grubs. Timing is important. Apply either a product containing Mach 2 or Merit.

Fall Control  -  (August 15th - October 15th)  Grubs are eating/growing and damaging turf before going dormant for winter.  Another application of Dylox may be necessary.

All applications and times above are only guidelines.  They are very weather and site dependent.  Grubs may also be from various types of beetles and warrant other pesticides.  Note: All applications of the above pesticides require watering of the turf or the pesticided will not work - read the label!
